Kalsi is former Dean Colleges, Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar and Professor and Head, Deptt. of Chemistry, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Pune University, Pune under the guidance of Professor S.C. Bhattacharyya at National Chemical Laboratory, Pune in 1964. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Pune University, Pune under the guidance of Professor S.C. Bhattacharyya at National Chemical Laboratory, Pune in 1964. Prof. Kalsi was honored by the Punjab Agricultural University in 1969 in recognition of his merit as a teacher. Prof. Kalsi was invited by the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences to submit proposals for the award of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, 1985. See less
