Paul Hastings earned theatre degrees from the University of Illinois and worked as a set designer, director and occasional actor. He's written several plays including Goodnight George, Goodnight Gregory, produced by the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Illinois, and Young God, which was awarded a grant by the Delaware State Arts Council. For many years he worked as a corporate facilitator and trainer, which led to writing, producing and directing corporate videos. Both Hackett Street and his first novel, Amanda Ranch: Paradise or Purgatory (Amazon 2015), were adapted from earlier screenplays. Paul lives in Costa Rica with his wife, two dogs, two cats and a horse named Julia. He retired from teaching English in 2013 and is currently working on his third novel, Pollywog, about the lives and losses of members of the fictional commune, The New Apple Love and Peace Project.
