Rachel Fletcher is the self-published, YA author behind The Flickers, as well as the mastermind behind current Wattpad favorites such as Ghostly and Speak of the Devil. Getting her start by writing fanfiction, Rachel discovered her passion for writing somewhat early in life. During the early stages of her writing career, she had attempted many times to write her own original fiction novel. Failing each time, and loosing interest in the plot, or hitting a streak of writer's block. It wasn't until the summer before her sophomore year of high school that she finally got the winning idea for an original story. On July 19, 2011, Rachel dived underwater into her friend, Kimberly's pool and opened her eyes to look at the water around her. The eerie silence within the water, combined with the panic of trying to reach the surface before running out of air sparked an idea in her mind, and The Flickers was born. 355 days, 35,000+ combined views, and 600 combined reviews later, The Flickers was a success and is was growing more successful every day. With plans to turn The Flickers in to a self-published trilogy; as well as a promising horizon in sight for her newest novels, Ghostly and Speak of the Devil, she hopes to one day make it big with her novels. But for now chooses to share them with her fans through the internet. Rachel is currently 17 years old, and attending her final year in high school. With no plans of college, she intends to focus on her writing career. Rachel lives in Northern California. See less
