The author of 'All Bitter and Twisted', Ron Bennett was born in Wrexham North Wales in 1954. In 1970 at the age of fifteen, he joined the Royal Air Force as an aircraft engineering apprentice. He is still serving and has risen to what is considered by most Servicemen as the best rank of all, that of Warrant Officer, and has served on squadrons in Germany, the Gulf region including Iraq, and in Northern Ireland. In 1997 he was awarded the MBE for service to the Royal Air Force. He is married and lives in Boston, Lincolnshire. He has one son and one daughter, both of whom have children of their own. Drawing on his extensive military career in aviation and the colourful characters he has met and served with over the past 34 years, he has written fictional novels with a strong thread of fact running through the storyline, which gives some insight into his life as an engineer in uniform.
