S J Perelman
S. J. PERELMAN (1904-1979) was one of the best and most influential humorists of the American twentieth century. The author of twenty classic books, his stories and essays were a fixture in The New Yorker magazine for nearly fifty years. He also wrote the screenplays for the Marx Brothers films Animal Crackers and Horse Feathers, and in 1956 was awarded an Academy Award for his screenplay of Around the World in Eighty Days.
