Spring Berman is an academic roboticist with an enduring love of poetry that began in early childhood. Spring Berman is an academic roboticist with an enduring love of poetry that began in early childhood. She pursued her academic career at increasing distances from her hometown of Livingston, New Jersey, obtaining a B.S.E. in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton University in 2005 and a PhD in mechanical engineering and applied mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010, completing a postdoctoral research appointment in computer science at Harvard University in 2012, and thereafter becoming an assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Arizona State University.
