Theresa Vaughan has over 30 years of experience developing and translating brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) for communication and control. In 2006, she co-founded the Center for Translational Neurological Research (CTNR), a partnership between the Wadsworth Center and the Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Hospital. Between 2011 and 2014, she coordinated the first translational studies to establish BCI's ability to improve the lives of people with advanced ALS. In 2015, she co-founded the International BCI Society, where she currently serves as a board member. She continues her BCI research at the National Center for Adaptive Neurotechnologies at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, New York. See less
