Vickram Ramkumar graduated from Anderson University, Anderson, Indiana USA in 1978 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. He obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland (Baltimore) in Pharmacology in 1987 and postdoctoral training in the area of adenosine receptor and cell signaling at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina from 1987 to 1992. Vickram Ramkumar graduated from Anderson University, Anderson, Indiana USA in 1978 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. He obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland (Baltimore) in Pharmacology in 1987 and postdoctoral training in the area of adenosine receptor and cell signaling at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina from 1987 to 1992. He joined the Department of Pharmacology at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1992 as an Assistant Professor where he continued research on adenosine receptors, oxidative stress and ototoxicity. His research has received consistent funding from the National Institutes of Health and also from American Heart Association and the National Organization Hearing Research. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. See less
