Dr. Singh completed his D. Phil. degree from University of Allahabad, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. In the last decade, Dr. Singh has worked extensively on applications of XRF, LIBS, TOF-SIMS, UV-Visible, and FTIR spectroscopy for the study of several biological specimens such as gallstones, kidney stones, teeth, bones, plants, environmental samples, salts and others. His research interests are in X-ray spectrometry and Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy. His current research interests include multi-spectroscopy studies of biological samples, organic samples, medicinal plant samples, environmental samples, agricultural samples, and food products. Trace and heavy metal and toxic element determination in bio samples, food products (for quality check), and medicinal plant samples are the major thrust areas of Dr. Singh. He has published more than 100 international research papers, review articles, and book chapters in renowned international journals with good impact factors. He has authored several book chapters in books published by Springer, Elsevier and Wiley. He has successfully edited books on "Nanomaterials and Environmental Biotechnology" published by Springer Nature; "X-Ray Fluorescence in Biological Sciences: Principles, Instrumentations and Applications" published by Wiley & Sons Inc.; and "Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS): Concepts, Instrumentation, Data Analysis and Applications" by Wiley & Sons Inc; and "Applied Raman Spectroscopy" by Elsevier. He is also a life member of several academic and professional societies. Dr. Singh is a recipient of the prestigious "Raman Fellowship" awarded by University Grants Commission (UGC), Govt. of India for the year 2015-16 for Post-Doctoral Research in Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) operated by University of California, Berkeley, USA.
