An excellent supplement to Sibley's or any other field guide. More descriptive material ... many more illustrations, e.g., gull ages, sub-species.

Excellent detail
This is a veritable encyclopedia of bird-related information. My only criticism is that it doesn't cover all of North America - only Canada and the US. Mexico is hugely important to bird-watchers and is definitely part of North America, yet it was not included here.

Best Bird Book
This is a book of great beauty and the absolute maximum of usefulness. With it the bird watcher can identify birds precisely and easily.. The care and artistry of the author is exceptional . Although larger than many guides, its comprehensiveness makes up for the added bulk.
