I purchased this for my grandson who expressed an interest in learning to cook. With this book we now have three generations who learned basic cooking methods and recipes from Betty -- me, my son (who used my old copy), and grandson. Simple recipes, easy to understand instruction on basic cooking methods, tasty results. Great book for kids! Glad it's been reprinted.

Timeless Treasure
I received this book from my grandmother for Christmas in 1961 when I was just 7 years old. I used it for years and eventually introduced my daughter to the pleasures of cooking from this book. I recently purchased a new copy for my granddaughter, who loves to cook with her great-grandmother. When kids reach the age that they can read and understand basic arithmetic, this book should become part of their home library.

An Old Friend
This was a favorite book of my sister's and mine when we were growing up (I got it for Christmas when I was 10). We literally wore it out using it! and fighting over who was going to get to use it! My favorite cookies were the sugar and hers were the molasses. When I found the reauthorized edition available from you, I knew exactly what my sister was getting for Christmas! It came early enough that she got to make "the right" cookie recipes for her now grown sons and their new brides! The boys had also learned to cook from that Old Favorite of their aunt and mother and also had their favorite cookies (sugar to decorate, molasses to eat) Oh, the memories it brought back when they actually came and were just as we remembered it! We went through it page by page and relived those Good Ol' Days! I got one for me, too. No more fighting! (btw - we're now 61 and 57!) Yes, I'd highly recommend the book for boys and girls of all ages and the seller without reservation!!
