I purchased this book along with a few others looking to supplement my high school Environmental Science Course. The content is excellent, interesting and incorporates many reading strategies and applications to real life that my district encourages. The reading level is a little high for 11th and 12th grade, possibly freshman college material but very teachable to this age.

Great Overview!
This text touches on many of the issues we have dealing with everything from the challenges of protecting our biodiversity to the political and Big Business influence on our Federal regulatory agencies. I was glad to see that the European Union (EU) was compared to the U.S. as far as chemical testing is concerned. The book introduces REACH, the complete opposite safety program that the EU has in place to protect the people as compared to the U.S. The book was balanced and fair in presenting different viewpoints. This is one of my textbooks I will keep!
