Easily understandable life of Luther
Considering the subject matter, a biography of Martin Luther, I found the author's humorous asides made the reading greatly enjoyable. I read another review that said that Metaxas used other biographies of Luther freely in his book. He footnotes and attributes copiously as he goes. But he made Luther seems very human, someone we could sit down with and discuss anything. Lest you think the books is a 'light weight', the issues of the reformation, theology, and the subsequent splits in reformed churches was very well defined. Very enjoyable read.
