This text provides information useful in selecting candidate launch sites for military or commercial payloads. It covers the history, facilities and point of contact for 21 of the most active launch sites and offers information on launch sites capable of launching commercial payloads. A guide for providing payload planners general information useful in selecting candidate launch sites for commercial payloads. The data contained has been collected from the most current public sources and through communication with the launch sites and features those that are currently active or expect to be in the near future. The author, in addition to being associated with The Aerospace Corporation, had experience teaching students at the University of California Los Angeles, California State University, Northridge, and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. Wikipedia has an article on launch sites. This article constitutes a list of rocket launch sites. Some of these sites are known as spaceports or cosmodromes. A single rocket launch is sufficient for inclusion in the table, as long as the site is properly documented through a reference. Missile locations with no launches are not included in the list. Proposed and planned sites and sites under construction are not included in the main tabulation, but may appear in condensed lists under the tables.
