This is a half dozen or so books into the series; therefore the author should have learned a heck of a lot more about ancient Egypt over the years than the book indicated. He writes ad nauseam about his extensive research on the subject, yet continues to make the same gross errors over and over again, averaging about one per page. (One example: he seems to think papyrus and parchment are the same.) Few of the characters have true ancient Egyptian names, the temples are drawn outrageously huge and "Hollywoodish", the distances are either too long or too short, etc, etc, Rather than becoming immersed in ancient Egypt, when I read this novel (and the others in the series) I feel the author has confused Egypt with medieval Europe. I recommend reading this series only if one has an eye for errors and a weird sense of humor.
