"Democracy For The Few" is a provocative interpretation of American Government. It shows how democracy is repeatedly violated by corporate oligopolies, and how popular forces have fought back and occasionally made gains in spite of the system. By focusing on the relationship between economic power and political power, discussing actual government practices and policies, conspiracies, propaganda, fraud, secrecy and other ploys of government and politics, this book stands apart in its analysis of how US Government works.

This book will give you a refreshing look about the inequalities between the rich and the poor and how the middle class is squeezed out in America. In order to get updated statistics, you might also want to consider reading the eigth edition, which is copyrighted 2008. This book explores inconsistencies in laws and how certain wealthy groups run the majority of the country. Even if you do not agree with this book this is required reading and if I was teaching a course in American Politics you will be required to read, write, and discuss the topics in it.
