I love Scotland! So what could be better than a Scottish Detective! When I find an author who is new to me, that piques my interest, my quest begins. I purchased both of MacBride's novels at the same time based on a review I found while perusing on Amazon.uk.com. The reviewer said MacBride would not dissappoint, and he surely did not! I like to get all of the books with repeating lead characters so when I finish one I can pick up the next...you can really get into the people and the places. European police procedures, language and politics are so different from us Yanks. Although there are only two present novels, DCI Logan McRae is a character I thoroughly enjoy. He is as complex as the mysteries he solves - his thought process is unique - he agonizes to get out of the goof up squad and his new boss leaves a lot to be desired. Still he pushes himself to put the pieces of the gruesome puzzle together to solve the crime. I eagerly await MacBrides news saga this summer! I hope you enjoy is writing as much as I do.
