This book is truely written for the beginner chemist. It is writen in an easy to read form unlike some textbooks that over explain things. The first chapter is all about giving tips to make the most of the book; from note taking to answering the practice tests and then checking answers. I found the book so well written that it often explained things better than my professor. If anyone has to buy it for a class take advantage of it and don't leave it untouched for the whole semester.
