On this day twenty years ago, some of the most eminent physicians of our city, combined to form a society, founded on. The best principles for improvement in the science we cultivate, and for extensive usefulness in the relief of the sufferings of humanity. They succeeded in their attempt. T he society I now have the honour to address, was the result of their industry. We have reaped the fruit of their labours, and it is expected of us in our turn, that we should continue the Work which they have begun, and petpe tuate their memories, by making this so ciety instructive to ourselves and useful to the community in which we live.
